Institute's library

General Information

The library of the Institute of Mining is a specialised library that provides literature in the fields of underground and surface mining as well as in related areas.

The library of the Institute of Mining (ID: C 16) consists of two parts. One part is located in the Department of Underground Mining Methods and Machinery. The other part is in the Department of Surface and International Mining.

When searching in the institute's catalogue, the location is distinguished by the signature. The shelfmark consists of the library's identification (CL 16), the more precise location (ifb166 for Underground; IfB16/H for Surface mining) and the internal identification. Books that contain an H in their signature are thus to be found in Surface mining, books without an H in the signature in Underground.

The institute library is a reference library, i.e. borrowing is not possible.
